It works within a generation through convincing the governments to change laws, linking policy makers with people on the ground, pooling knowledge and resources, and rallying support from people and organisations from different corners for making lasting change happen on a massive scale. Currently WA is looking for a dynamic, committed, passionate and self-driven individual for the position of “Coordinator - Research and Knowledge Management” for its country office in Bangladesh.

Key Responsibilities

As a member of a high-performing team, the incumbent shall: • Identify and initiate small-scale mixed-method research in selected thematic areas with internal capacity. Contribute to developing data collection tools in the organisation’s mobile based data collection platform (mWater), data analysis, report writing, disseminating key findings with relevant internal and external stakeholders via communication materials, publication etc. • Develop detailed research design and execute on research plan adopting various research methodologies (depending on project context). • Synthesize insights and ideas from the research, capture and articulate implications of research findings. • Develop high quality ToR for conducting studies/assessments and hire/assist to hire external consultants compatible with the ToR. Guide external consultants so that organisational aims and objectives are fully met as per expectations. Ensure that all parts of the research/studies are follows a high standard. • Synthesize innovation evidence from field, generate insights and advocate to the organization and facilitate informed decision-making based on research outcomes • Provide capacity support to programmes and partner organisations in identifying, synthesizing and writing knowledge pieces. • Support to develop policy briefs on distinguished WASH issues such as Gender and WASH, WASH and climate resilience, etc. as well as other knowledge products from the results of MEL (monitoring, evaluation and learning) coordinated/managed evaluations/studies as required. • Identify, document, package and disseminate key lessons learned and best practices and innovations ('knowledge') at project, programme, and country level. • Conduct field visit as required to collect primary data for producing knowledge products. Provide capacity support to programmes and partner organisations in identifying, synthesizing and writing knowledge pieces. • Maintain and strengthen the organisation's digital repository of knowledge products to ensure they are stored in a safe and effective, and, where required confidential, manner. • Any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.

Requisite qualifications, experience, and attributes

Education and experience: Masters or equivalent degree in relevant discipline. Minimum of 06 (six) years’ demonstrated experience in research, knowledge management and learning with reputed organisations, preferably INGOs, donor agencies or international organisations is required. The years of experience may be relaxed for candidates with exceptional credentials and/or fast professional growth track. Knowledge: Knowledge on both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies (mix-methods), study designs, data collection tools, data analysis, high standard report preparation, dissemination of key findings, tools for capturing knowledge and learnings and application of computer software (MS Excel, SPSS, GIS, data visualization software, NVIVO) and data collection devices is essential. Skill: Excellent analysis and analytical writing quality is crucial; ability to present study findings with excellent data visualization techniques, and electronic data archiving is required. Good communication skills and experience to work with partners and donors; pro-activeness, positive attitude and professional integrity is required as well. Competencies: Must be a team player with mutual trust and understanding in a mixed team, self-motivated, problem solver, demonstrates gender and cultural awareness, effective communicator, capable to work under extreme pressure, ability to prioritize works and meet deadlines. Ready to undertake extensive field visits as required.

Fixes Term, for 02 Years with possibility of extension

Salary & Benefits

Monthly gross salary is in the range of BDT 120000-125000; flexible for deserving candidate corresponding to higher credentials.
